Sunderland is situated in Henderson, West Auckland. It is 15 minutes away from the central city with good public transport by bus or train. There are beautiful black sand beaches and vast forest covered ranges in West Auckland.  Auckland is New Zealand's largest and most multi-cultural city. You should be able to find the food, movies, music etc. that you like and find friends from your home country as well as friendly locals.
